hi anyone got one floating about! pun intended.

is the float chamber bigger in diameter and the cap than a 1 1/2 having issues with 1 1/2 going lean when cornering hard and perhaps a bigger chamber could help, the issue is more the fuel getting throw to the outside of the chamber and the float closing it when hard cornering turning left than volume.

Any thoughts, or would going to HIF38 be better?

Back in the days I was running a tuned Dolomite Sprint and wanted to upgrade from the pair of 1 3/4 HS, the 2" were like rocking horse shit so I had to use 2" HDs (a truly horrible design) so you might find them hard to track down even if they are bigger.
They most likely are as I'm 99% sure the 1 3/4 uses a bigger float bowl than the 1 1/2 (I can probably measure a 1 3/4 at the weekend) but surely the advantage of an HIF is the float is split both sides of the jet so, even if not perfect on cornering, at least both directions should be equal (or equally bad...) although I can't remember if the split is left to right or front to back but either way it's more symetric than an HS.

hard turning right it goes rich, hard turning left it goes lean, as seen on the AFR gauge...

I guess my point was that with a HIF the left/right (or forward/backwards) changes should be less with the float wrapped around the jet.

The HS will always have the float chamber off to one side.

Obviously efi would avoid this completely (but just give you more to worry about...)

Maybe these fit others. Anyway, easy enough to make yourself.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
