love a good bargain! especially 2 in the space of a week...

1st being what I think are a bargain but you guys will have to let me know... a mate of mine has a 67 mk1 and it used to wear genuine mk1 cooper s reverse rims but he turned up to the pub on 'mini meet' night rollin on standard 10's but with his S rims on his roof rack.. he said he was selling them but as I know what they normally go for I didn't bother asking how much HE wanted for them.. until later that evening someone asked how much? and when he said, everyone wanted them! me and my good mate were the first with our wallet out so we had to flip a coin and I won! so what do you think for £50





secondly... remember the times before internet and ebay etc? when you could find something on a card in a shop window? well a quick glance over the normal post section in the shop window, a phone call to the old boy selling it and borrowing my brothers tow car I was the new owner of this... for £20



complete with 3 mini wheels and electrics that worked after 5 years of sitting in the old boys garage.. what ya reckon? I did good?

So what or where did the reverse rim come from?

Dunlop made them as an aftermarket wheel to give the appearance of an S. They are wider with offset to give drum brake cars the same look as a disc brake car

Theyre just called reverse rims. Remember to put the tyre on from behind because as the name suggests the rims are reversed. Ive not seen any of these go for less than £100 in a long time, I was looking for some myself but bought the Rosepetals instead

S-wheels are also delivered as both 3,5" and 4,5". 3,5" are more unusual and also more expensive :)

I have a set of reversed with studed tyres for cruising and playing in the snow :)

Reverse rims for the win! As Paul's says they work well with drums, if your run them with discs the extra inch of offset causes the wheels to stick out a bit, not really far enough to look good with wheel arches but far enough to be illegal. I bought 2 with tires off this forum for £60

What wheels are u runnin jay? In ur avatar thingy? And any pics of disc braked minis on reverse rim (illegal poke)

I have reverse rims with Cooper S discs so have the poke as you describe.




When I say illegal, I have passed MOT about 10 times like this and was only failed once so it's a grey area. Bear in mind brake choice is limited, you won't get 4pots behind these wheels, not without a spacer which makes the poke worse.

Ah thats alright... ive had all different types of poke and know exactly how much po po would pull you over for.. yours looks right on the money for how much your allowed in my eyes.. have u got spacered rear drums?

Sleepers are awesome, plus not many cars look good in brown, yet minis easily pull it off.

I have superfins with the built in spacer, previous I had standard drums with a 1" spacer slapped on but felt these were a bit wider than the superfins.

I have to say, I get a bit of a kick out of confusing chavs with it, they can't understand the dump valve/SC gear combo and the "plain" look.

Haha yeah, I think most moderately powered minis confuse most folk on the road when they have to work to keep up haha
