You can do it. You put compressed air down your plug hole and make some kind of lever setup from the rocker post/head stud to compress the spring. Not sure its worth fannying about with if you dont have the kit already tho. |

Do you have inner spring locators? If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Ask Steve about it. If it hasn't it may be worth adding them and glueing the seal down as well. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Just glued one of mine in situ. Easier though, as I am only running single springs. Class C 3rd Place Avon 2011 14.18 @101mph |

You can do the spring in situ by feeding soft rope through the spark plug hole then winding the piston to TDC which will hold the valve up.

How would you compress the valve spring using this method mate? If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

You'd need something that hooks under the rocker shaft with a long lever to allow you to pull the spring down.

Do em with oil if you have run out. I'll have a look if I still have a packet as I use a large tube usually. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

I have a special tool like the once suggested, grips around bottomcoil of spring and then leavers down on cap, the good length of about 4mm Diameter nylon cord in the bore when piston about 3/4 of way up and then turn engine over by hand to crush it into the chamber to hold valve in place, this works better than the compressed air tool, I have one of those as well. Used to do this all the time on the old Sierra CVH engines. |

Yup, rope method is a doddle, and more trustworthy than air.
