Hi all,

Current setup is an MPI block with 18cc accralite pistons and an m45 supercharger. I'm running a megasquirt which currently acts as a megajolt and an HIF44 carb. Problem is getting the mixture right (it's all over the place, from way too lean to rich to the point of chocking). I'm thinking of fitting a TBI unit (from a fiesta?) since the MS is already there. Anyone have experience with this? There's simply no room for multi point, at least not without redoing basically everything.

Thanks:)

Hallo Arnoud,
Maybe share some more info about your current set-up.
For starters, blow-through or suck-through?
TBI before or after SC?

Dazed and Confused....

It won't be perfect but it won't be worse than the SC setup or any other TBI setup.

It would be better to have a TBI with 2 injectors because that would give you a better dynamic range. You will need to inject 4 times per cycle (twice per rev) to get something closer to a reasonable fuel distribution. So you have to make sure the injector(s) is(are) large enough to compensate for the multiple on-off cycles where no fuel is injected.

It would also be a good thing to have 2 or 3 wideband O2 sensors so that you can monitor the AFR of the inner and outer cylinders independently. This would allow you to check that you don't have excessively lean cylinders. Using a single sensor will only give you an average and you won't know how much difference there is between cylinders. However, with a TBI, you won't be able to do anything to correct any fueling difference but only enrich or lean out everything.

what about just fitting an throttle body, and adding two injectors to the pipe that links the throttlebody to the charger?

The sc EFI 5 port kit, has a twin 440 injectors. I'm running and so is Andy on out suck through setups

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
