Swansea boyo!

So, after almost a year of having a pretty much trouble free mini life my car is almost 'finished' to how I wanted it to be last summer, I've started collecting bits to go turbo. I would be happy with about 80bhp which is almost twice as much as he's got now haha. This will be purely engine, I won't be changing the looks of the car in anyway. Hopefully all being well this should will be built up by next spring/summer.
Here's my current hoard of stuff (will keep updating as I go), I'd like to write down costs but it will just make me sad the more I spend!
T2/GT15 hybrid
12G295 head (needs converting)
HIFF44 (rebuilt!)
Mirage manifold
Megajolt + bits
MG metro cam
Temp/oil gauge
MPI tank plus fuel reg
AFR gauge
Boost gauge
DV

Here's how he's looking now (:

Sound like a nice plan to me. Got to keep it stealth! Look out for an MPI tank & pump.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

To be honest I think an spi tank and pump would do the trick, should be enough for 100hp if she ever feels the need for it *tongue*

I love his build, makes me want a brown car haha. I couldn't ever imagine my car looking any different to what it does because it would just ruin it for me. Stealthy is the way to go though, leave all the lame boy racers for dust *tongue*

Yeah but yours has nice panel gaps and paint! Mines a mess up close. I'm glad to see this getting the turbo treatment, I'm sure it will confuse a few chavs.

Ohhhh he's a 5 footer for sure! It was all only done last year but being outside used pretty every day is having it's effect (plus the fact the paint job was awful!)

both your cars look great; as enthusiasts, we look past all the good bits and only see the flaws!

Glad it was rebuilt, there was a bit of crud in there that probably would have caused blockages in the jet and choke mechanism!

Right guys, as it's known by most the old guy is pretty much cream crackered after this weekend. I don't think we are sure what's happened until we pull it apart completely. But by unanimous decision driving home we have decided it's for the best that he's being parked up and the engine is coming out a lot sooner than planned, sad but exciting! I'd love to get this done for Combe but we will have to see how it goes and how quickly we can get the last of the parts together. We gave it a good send off though, wheel span it at some traffic lights just before getting home *happy*.
RIP standard 998, it was fun and slow while it lasted *crying*!

Sorry guys I have only just seen this as I was about to update what I've bought recently :(. I'm not really hopeful it will be in for Combe now as the engine is still sat in the bay. I was hoping to get the bulk of it done over the bank holiday. But we just mostly need upgraded engine bits now I think. I've got some shineys on their way this week though *happy*

Got a little bit done this weekend, my box came back last Thursday with a new COP (typo! durrr) and diff pin, sadly my block wasn't back in time to put the engine back in but should be within the next few days ready to be built up and go back in next weekend as long as my trigger wheel comes in time! The MPI tank and new fuel lines went in, we don't like 8mm haha, stuffs a nightmare! Carl cleaned up my engine bay for me too after a fuel pipe split a few months ago and went all over the bulkhead while I spent ages making my head look pretty after almost painting it purple haha. Hopefully Carl will have some time this week after work to get all the dash out ready for the new dails *happy*

There's so much innuendo in that statement. Good to hear your box is back though. *wink* CPU in the gearbox, competition for Matty!
