Looking for some cheap oil to knock the cam in and run the mini for a week before changing and running Millers CTV.

I just go to local motor factors and buy the cheapest 20/50 I can. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

We saw 20/50 in Morrisons earlier for £10 earlier! Or grab someone with a halfrauds trade card and get theirs for £14 or something like that. Edited by Shauna on 28th Apr, 2014. They don't die, they just get faster! |

I actually got mine from b&q last weekend. Didn't get the cheapest stuff which was £11 as it wasn't suitable for turbos. Not sure if it was an issue for running in or not but i got the slightly better stuff rated for turbos ad i'll be running it in for a few miles on it |

my own opinion is that why put cheep shit in an expensive engine especially at the crittical running in stage when there is a specific running in oil available, all be it maybe not at your local store?...........

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

I used cheap 20 50 to knock the cam in dropped the oil and swapped to millers running in oil, then had the engine run in on the rollers under different loads by my local operator.
I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

The idea is to knock the cam in on cheap ish oil and maybe a couple of runs up and down the lane at various loads.

Mine will be knock cam in and whatever garage running occurs. Then change for MOT and a quick run up and down the road then on to CTV. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |
