Hello...

I've got the following question.
Is there somebody who use this oil? I'm looking for the best oil for my new turbo engine.
I can only find some reviews about the semi synthetic..most used over here i think

Is safe to use the fully synthetic one? Or is it a no go.
If i read on the MS site it's ok to use. But i'm still not confinced.
They are the same price per gallon....

I hope somebody can help me out.
Gr.

The general consensis is to use Miller CTV semi synthetic.

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

Ask Millers themselves ?

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Good Afternoon Vincent,

Thanks for the enquiry. First of all, the Classic High Performance 20w50 NT would offer the best protection for your engine. As I’m sure you’re aware, our semi synthetic oil for minis is the CTV 20w50 and this carries the API GL4 gearbox oil spec to cover the dual engine / transmission oil that is needed for minis. Now the Classic High Performance 20w50 NT will offer some protection for the gearbox but not as much as say the CTV 20w50. From your email I’m guessing you are more interested in the engine part so this would be the one to go for. Because it’s fully synthetic and it incorporates our nanotechnology additive, you are getting the best product to provide you with the most reduced friction which will lead to better power and torque and also less wear and heat.

Hope that makes sense?

Regards

Matt

So that makes them both good in their own way. It's just what you prefer for your self?
Max engine protection or max gearbox protection...... Is what i'm making of this.

From what I have read about it, it's a race oil, so is more about losing the friction than trying to make everything last longer. I currently use valvoline vr1 in my race engine and think its a great race oil, but I don't think it would be a good road oil. Millers ctv would be the best shout for that. This is all n/a though so may be different with turbo use.

That's a mineral oil. Go for a semi synthetic if you can find one.

What about wet clutch motorcycle oils? they do those in full synthetic and are suitable for shared engine/ gearbox. make sure it's suitable for wet clutch though if your gearbox has synchro's

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

they work great, easy to find if you look for "JASO MA" printed on the bottle
