Well, where do I start! With the facts I suppose...

- Over £27,000 spent (Excel document of receipts available on request)
- First and currently the only SC supercharged k-series 16v in the UK.
- 250 miles since being rebuilt (driving back from Norwich). Been garaged since then.
- 190BHP!
- Resprayed twice without doing any miles as I wasn't happy with the paint job quality.
- The car is immaculate, everything has been attended to either new or replaced, I've never even had the car insured apart from to drive it home from SC.

So why am I selling? This wasn't part of the plan and it doesn't financial make sense to sell the car without putting it in Mini Magazine or without an MOT but unfortunately I can't have this amount of vested capital in the car at this point in time, I need to buy a house and unfortunately I've recently split from my partner where the car is garaged. This is not advertised any where else and is purely just open to Turbo Mini Members as a first pass before I put it on pistonheads and Ebay. Matt Woods has contacted me along with Mini Magazine to be a feature car so who ever buys this car is getting a beauty. Generally upset to be selling... this was a dream of mine as a kid.

Originally a 1987 Park Lane in Black.
All rust removed and replaced with new panels

Respray includes underside (stonechipped first) inside, under bonnet and inside the boot

Current State:

The car runs as you'd expect but requires the following to be finished which is reflective within the asking price.

- Indicator stalk to be installed and wired in (brand new stalk supplied)
- Front roll cage installed but requires bolting in.
- Inter cooler included but needs piping in. I never got round to buying a new one from PACE and installing it.
- No MOT.
- Water temperature dial not working.

Not been on here for a while but just noticed this question. It did sell I brought it, it was a really nice car but still needed a lot doing to it to get it finished. I wanted it purely for the superb Specialist Components engine. the rolling shell was sold to a friend of mine who is finalising the installation of a 998cc Turbocharged engine.
I wanted the engine for my Hill Climb and Sprint Mini, the plan was to change the capacity of the engine to 999cc using a special crank and rods so it was eligible for the up to 1400cc Modprod class, unfortunately the MSA has a proposal to alter the forced induction equivalency from 1.4 to 1.7 meaning the engine needed to be 820cc which creates another set of problems. I've now decided to go the N/A route hence this engine will shortly appear on eBay for sale.

That's not strictly true. It has been discussed, and will most likely happen one day, but it's not a proposal that is live or will happen any time soon. Where have you heard this?

I'd stick with your plan, I'm not changing my 750 turbo that runs in the 1100cc class.

I originally heard of the proposal of the equivalency increase from a friend with close connections with the MSA, after a few emails to either confirm or deny the proposal the MSA confirmed that it had been a consideration by the technical panel.
I managed to grab the MSA technical guy at the Autosport show on Friday and to be honest he was very vague but he said that is was something they were looking at as the 1.4 equivalency was " very generous".

The other factor for a change of plan is it will still take a fair bit of cash to convert the engine to 999cc, which I had taken into consideration, but I hadn't planned to have the car ready until the 2018/2019 season. IF the MSA do alter the regs I'm stuck then with out a car because as you know the other Sprint Mini is a 998cc Turbo.
The plan still isn't completely dead though, if I cant sell the engine I may still take a chance on the MSA and give it a go, even if the equivalency is changed I've got a very short stroke Gorden Allen special saloon crank which a .060 overbore only gives 849cc, so getting the required capacity with a 1.7 equivalency would not be a problem, but 180bhp ish and still make it drivable is a fairly big ask.

Having spoken to someone who actually sits on the speed committee, you are there or there abouts. Some people think 1.4 is generous, but if you look at who's winning which classes, is it really?

How many turbo cars won their class (with a cc limit) at the last even you went to?

By '18 or '19 though, it may well have changed.

If it does happen, I'll be making my engines smaller. 180 out of a short stroke 998 won't be a problem. Make it rev and lower the FD, will drive the same:)
