To be effective, you need the compressor outside the spraying area, or at least the air intake. |

Thats what I use. I am always surprised when I remove it that I can then smell the paint,so I,m guessing it does a pretty good job. |

the air-fed masks take a fair bit of CFM to run in conjunction with the spray gun. A quick search found the mask will probably need 7 cfm or so and the gun upwards of 8 cfm. There may be others that need less but given a 2HP compressor is probavbly kicking out 8-9cfm you'll need a pretty big unit to supply that.

disposable filter masks don't filter out the isocyanates. Thats why you need an air fed mask with 2k paints and clear coat. Own the day

100% do not use a filter mask for 2k! They do sell some apparently suitable, but I'm not so sure they're really up to the job. As they only last a short period of time.

Well i stand corrected! All i know is we have used filter masks with 'suitable' filters in them for the odd paint jobs we've done through the years |

I have an air fed mask I'm never going to use. It looks a bit like one of Simon's gimp masks. has the filter screwing into the front. Can get a pic if you want. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

From reading a bit on the internet I think air fed is the best way. As Joshua said the majority of the filter masks do not filter out the isocyanates. Think it's really an air fed mask that I'm after. I've got a small compressor that I will use just for the mask outside the garage.
