I bought this car when I was 16 in the hope of restoring it with a few little subtle touches, the car was in a pretty bad state when I got it. It was from southend and you could tell. The shear amount of bodge jobs from cardboard in the arches covered in filler. Cable tie exhaust hangers. Well after a while I put a new steel front on it half a paint job due to me being lazy and liking the scruffy look. Still with the original 998 which was painfully slow. I drove it for a year with its ups and downs done london to brighton etc without a problem.

Seems a well thought out build. Should seem like a rocket after the standard 998. In the 13's at last!.. Just |

Looks good, I have been thinking recently about using a gt17 instead of the T2, will be interesting to see how it performs on a similar build to mine. http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.p...tid=469104&fr=0 |

Really like the look of this mini. Good luck with the engine BHP sells engines, but Torque wins races! |

I wouldn't go as low as CR 7,25:1, it won't be driveable. Loosing too much low down torque. 75' Mini special deluxe.

I'm going back home next weekend for easter and need to get a few bits done. Ive got to make the pockets, can someone suggest the right size burr to use and I'll get it ordered. So through me being away and being a design student Ive started looking into make a few bits for this mini and my other one which i bought of a friend the other month. Its a 2000 mli shell so as you guessed very rusty. I plan to make this a lightened trick mini hopefully. I've started to make things like coil over turrets and tools on CAD though I might share them here.

The engine has gone off to be pocketed with the crank and flywheels to be balanced. I'm not bothering with lightening them as the flywheel will be replaced with a lightened pre-verto item. Bought a dizzy for now. just need a cam, carb, duplex and need to make a oil feed. A gt17 uses an M12 thread just trying to get the bits for that really. going to weld up the mani when I'm back. I also need a mooting plate for the manifold still can't get hold of one. If anyone who's where to get them or has a spare one please let me know :) |
