400kg? That's some serious weight loss you're going to need, a bare shell I heard is around 170kg, and an a series engine is roughly 130 to 150kg, then there's everything else. Good luck lol

Think of it as trying to lose an average weight person, that's still a lot to lose, have a very good look at paul wigintons build thread for ideas, you may find you'll have to start looking at pulling the engine apart to save some weight if you haven't done already

I have seen what's already been done, titanium drive shafts sounds like a good idea but there can't be much left to go at ! Lol

back drilled ti bolts through out would save you more than a set of ti shafts, both combined would be a decent couple kg chunk out your 65kg target

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve

If I was looking to get the weight down that far I would be looking at front engine bike conversions,

Just from a quick look at your motor.
1. Loose the big wiper motor go for a small single wiper motor
2.more holes in the subby
3. Carbon bulkhead blank plate
4. Carbon headlamp rings
5. Titanium top arms
6. Smaller lighter wheels?
7. Alloy hubs and drive flanges

Outside n of the box, drill and flare boot inner surround, cf doors, no interior, lighter seats harnesses ect, ti subframes, bike engine, light weight shifter rod, cut down bolts, re-wire car, lighten the lights, it gets pitty but if you have a goal then achive it, simples *smiley*, weld in rollcage rather than bolt in stuff like that.

6.4kg saving changing to some of carls slr5 wheels.

where your bulkhead blanking plates are you could drill and flare inside that pannel.

you will save a fair few kg changing that subframe to a tubular one.

loads you could do without changing the external look much

also can your cage be welded in?

if i was worried about weight id pull the car down to nothing make the shell as light as possible then seriously think about absolutely every item that makes it back on and how it could be lighter or better yet not exist at all

id probably do something crazy like a cage with tube subbys and one of those paper thin shells that looks like a mini nd some kind of feather weight mid car engine that screams haha i can dream cant i?
