Ah, its a pitty you couldnt modify the fittings on the starter to rotate it slightly.

has no one matched up what starter most of the hi torque ones are? the main starter is a Denso, as its very similar to ones on toyotas, then looks like a custom billet CNC'd mounting plate and drive gear looks like a factory produced job, possibily original mini one modified onto the denso body...

Some pic of my Mini Spares starter. The main flat portion of the body is about 25MM back from the outermost part of the transfer case.
