Random question, does any body know the standard wheelbase for the Mk2 scamp. I have a 8ft length bed trailer that I use for my minis. I'm picking up one up and need to make sure it's going to fit. I can't find any info on the net.

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

From memory the standard mk2 frame is meant to be the same wheelbase as a countryman

Thanks,

The owner as told me 94", which I thought was too big. He's just double checked it and confirmed is correct. The overall length is 11ft5". This looks like the longer wheelbase version to me, but he claims it definatly standard.

Either way I'm picking it up on Saturday. Hopefully it will be fully rebuilt and turbo'd with the engine out if my red mini and done by IMM.

Your car is my inspiration. I've been watching your videos on YouTube. Hope mine ends up looking as good as yours.

I'm determined not to spent over £2000, however I already have the engine, box, turbo, wheels, dash, seats, gauges, loom etc

Any advice would be welcomed.

If my scamp was at home I would measure the wheel base for you mate but its locked up at my dads place.

With regards to help, more than happy any time your stuck with something . One thing that springs to mind is having a bias valve on the rear break line as otherwise it may lock up the back wheels !

Other than that if you put on 10" wheels make sure the rubber is good *happy*, I have a 3:1 diff and no issues with coming on cam , it revs up to 7k but wouldn't push it past 85mph ( it starts to take off *tongue* )

I'm running rubber cones mate , I heard spring replacements are not good with the light weight . I also have 2.5 digress negative camber on the front which made a big difference on back road cornering.
