Convert MJ TPS to MAP

Been asked on an PM by Jonny F about how to convert the MJ TPS to a MAP.
So decided to write a breif topic on this to aid any other members.

Parts required:
2 x 0.1uF capacitors
1 x 270 ohms resister
1 x MAP sensor

All the parts can be obtained for RS for around £20.

Solder the MAP sensor / capacitors and resisters as per the below picture to the MAP section of the PCB, a common mistake is to solder the MAP sensor upside down, the correct way is with the legs towards the PCB.





Next is to remove the R3 resister from the TPS section of the MJ PCB, all other components can be left in place.



The final think that is required to do is flash the MJ with the latest fireware.

Hi Jonny,

Amended the post to so pictures, did it at work the first time so not sure what went wrong :(

The MAP can be tested by powering up the MJ and sucking on the MAP sensor and watching the gauge on the MJ software.

I think i still have spare capacitors and resister if you need any.

Had to buy 10+ of each, were only a few quid but if you PM us your address i'll post some to you.

hy. old tread i know but no need to make a new one when things are so nice explained.

since Lee.pb seems good at this maybe a small adding?



i bought this one just now. its a black board. as i understand the only difference between the green board and the black board is that the blackboard just needs the map censor soldered on? nothing more needs to be added or removed? can i get the map censor from auto sport labs?
