Evening gents,

I picked up my engine today which wil be used as the core for my k1100 turbo build. It's starting to look a bit of a mixed bag really.

From a quick once over its an MPI block and head, non mpi transfer housing and don't know about the box yet. It was run on megajolt so has non mpi pulleys with trigger wheel etc as well.

The guy said it had had gearbox problems and when he dropped he oil a couple of needle rollers came out in the oil, but he had never run it and had just bought it a couple of years ago as a spare that he no longer needed. He also said there was water in the rocker box hence I got it for good money ( at least I think I did). It's in gear but can be turned over by hand so I'm hoping it won't be a total write off.

Anyway I wipped the head of tonight and all looks ok, I can still see the hone marks and I think the pistons give it away as a standard 1275 still. So the block would appear useable.

I can't say the same for the rockers, also pictured, one of them was so loose an elephant could have got its dick between the shaft and rocker, and one looks like it has tried to ave a fight with the top of the valve. I'm not sure how it could have got his bad and there are no markings to ID the rockers......so any ideas welcome......I don't know if they are full roller rockers though and then the needle rollers in the oil could have been out of the knackered one.

I've also got my 16v head now from a K1100 LT so more pics to follow shortly.

I'm sure I will be leaning on a few for help and ideas so thanks in advance and particularly to Colin who as offered advice already!

a always fancied doing one of these conversions but cant see it giving me any more usable power than I already have

though my brother has a 1200 16v rs head which he is going to boost.

we were thinking along the lines of using the rs cams, maybe gt20, low compression (around 8.2:1) and a lot of boost!

hes already gathering parts, got a suitable gearbox, head etc,
