For sale is a freshly rebuilt 1275 Engine.

About the engine:
1275 A+ Block, cleaned and painted red for that extra 10hp
1275 A+ Crank, reground 10/10, cleaned and polished
1275 Press Fit Rods
Hepolite 20142 10cc dish cast pistons
1275 A+ Cam
Simplex Timing Chain
Verto clutch and flywheel, New clutch release bearing and friction plate
A+ Gearbox, Pot joints, 3.1 final drive.
12G940 (small valve) Head, guides and seats checked for wear, valves lapped in.
Sintered Rockers
Maniflow Inlet manifold
Manifow Exhaust manifold (freeflow type)
HS4 Carb, with Stage 1 1275 needle
K&N Air filter
Minispares RC40 Exhaust

The engine was built by myself (currently working for a company who build aircraft engines, study engineering at Uni and this is the second engine I’ve built) with fresh bearings etc throughout. The engine is running and currently in the car and as such is available for test drives before purchase. It has done 50 miles and has had one oil+filter change. A schedule of future required oil changes can be included if required. Runs and drives brilliantly. The pistons seem uncommon, but I have three spare on rods, and I have no idea of their suitability for turbocharging.

Items that could be included in the sale:
Minispares X-Pin diff. Completed maybe 1000 miles, still looks as good as new.
12G940 Big Valve Head. Requires new guides. (I can complete this work at cost to buyer)
Metro Turbo (Uncomfirmed) Distributor + Powerspark Ignition Coil
Duplex Chain (inc fitting)
3 spare HE 20142 Pistons

Points to note:
The engine is in the car so that you can come and drive it yourself and make your own mind up about the engine. We've all seen what can happen buying 'Home built' engines over the internet. I will need time after a sale is agreed to remove the engine.
No distributor currently fitted to the engine
The engine is using minispares engine steady repair as a P/O sheared a bolt 2mm inside the threaded hole and I was unable to remove it. No detrimental effect on engine movement.
Minispares X-Pin diff is currently in the engine, this will have to be removed upon removal and swapped for a standard one if not required
I am willing to ship the engine via courier on a pallet. (Not cheap ~£80 is the best quote I’ve had)

Feel free to contact me with any questions on the build, engine or sale.

Price is £800, used engines are going for 400+, and is able to change subject to buyers requirements.

As I said, that's a wild of a stab in the dark, but I'm sure if I added it up it wouldn't be far off

if we added up all what our cars cost us im sure we could buy many different pretty things, but unless its boxed untouched next to its receipt i doubt you will get close to what it cost you. that's the sucky thing about selling shit.

but good luck with the sale none the less i was just shocked :)

Woolavington, Zummerzet

I'm helping a friend build an engine and gearbox for his car, and the bill for parts (excluding machining) is ~£1400 so far.
These things are NOT cheap to build any more if you do it properly.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

Price updated to something a little less dreamy.

Apparently the pistons are MG Metro Turbo, can anyone confirm?

If this is the case I can also throw in a metro T3 Setup which includes the manifold, turbo (in pieces awaiting a rebuild kit), elbow and oil feed and return.
