PALM BAY FLORIDA U S A

Ok here goes, can anyone tell me is it possible to reverse the rotation of the cooling fan. I was thinking this because I rode on a rocket ship, n I came up with the rocket scientist notion of hmmm, what if I can pull in cooler ambient air across the radiator ( 80-90 degrees ) vs 170 or higher under hood temperature that's typical under hood temp for a mini. if possible this would be real cool so to speak. anyone ?

When the car is moving the engine bay is at a high air pressure and the wings are at a low pressure so air will naturally get pulled through
Your idea may work when stationary but imo the front grill is not a millions miles from the radiator so it can get clean ish air anyway
Its much better to duckt the radiator to the inner wing so the air that passes through the radiator has no choice but to exit the engine bay

Short answer, NO.

The mechanical fan cannot be reversed.
An electric fan can be reversed, and will work the way you want - up until you drive the car forwards!

The grill is a high pressure area & the wheel arch is a low pressure area. The air will force against the flow of the fan, making the car run even hotter.

I agree that it is not an improvement, but the fan can be changed to pull instead of push. You would need a totally new fan with the blades at a different angle, but it could be done.

Lets apply rocket science for a moment.. the idea is a bit like a rocket taking off getting 30ft of ground flipping and nose diving into the ground....

Nothing to stop you ducting cold air in and hot air out this is how my oil cooler was settup (tucked up under a wing) it worked almost too well i had to tape about 20% of the cooler to keep oil temps up
