Just installed launch control & revlimiter to the mini but had difficulty finding a place to mount the button
That doesn't look crap (prefer not to see it at all)

Ended up going with;
Box & wiring in the dashboard glove compartment
And launch control button in the gear knob

How to;
Get a cheapish gear knob with chosen logo at the top from moss Europe

With a sharp knife run it around the logo & prise off with a screwdriver

Drill from the bottom to the top to get the hole centred, then procide to go crazy (avoiding the plastic) until the button fits securely inside

Then drill a very small hole in the plastic where it screws on, being careful not to go to near the thread

Feed the wires through the hole and push the button in place

Test to see if the button can still operate and not have much of a gap at the top

With a very small amount of glue or silicone on the top of the button rest the logo on top and allow to dry
I let it dry for about 30mins & to avoid mistakes put a blob of the same glue on a piece of cardboard at the same time to test, do not want it sliding about!

Then screw it on and secure wires with black electrical tape down the shaft to keep the stock look
& cover it with a gaiter like I am :)

Then go out and proceed to launch your car every time you come to a stop like a knob haha

Could use it as a start button too I guess for added security

But good way to spend the Sunday

Wiring diagram is nice and simple

Pity your bollocks are in line with the flywheel!

i had mine monted on my gear lever, it was hopeless to time it consistantly when launching was only any use for showing off in carparks. have the switch on an ajustable spring on the clutch pedal and its super consistant and also allows for use when flat shifting :)

So just pedal to the metal let it go woootomtom for few seconds pop the clutch and of you are... like rally cars? Nice ,sounds like true fun!

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

It's not bad on the gear knob as you really don't have to time it, just let go of the button when you dump the clutch

The spring could work but even more of a PITA to fit
It is pretty easy to do your own launches but difficult to get the pops, bangs and flames lol

It was on a friends fiesta ST and got given it
Useful to avoid over revving

mine was on the gear lever origionally, and i beg to differ, found the timing of it compared to the letting up of the clutch had a drastic effect on traction off the line but our engines are very different :) and i have the timing co-ordination of a potato according to my mates when i attempt to play drums. so it doent come naturally lol.

Quarry Bonk

I'd probably use unshrunk heatshrink instead of electrical tape, would look a whole lot neater, and no sticky mess when you remove it. But apart from that, nice work!
