I know that side mounts look better but besides that im not sure how many benefits there are. Actually are there and Disadvantages too?

Disadvantages:

-worse weight distribution
-more complicated manifold and probably more expensive
-heavier manifold
-Not efficient use of engine space

Advantages
-potentially a better manifold design, but no actual definitive proof
-Potentially easier oil return
-you can fit a bigger turbo (But the biggest that is sensible will still fit behind the block)
-better heat distribution, i.e. won't heat your carb up.
