Wow... Very cool... What's the plan? Strip down , soda blast and rebuild on daihatsu base with tdi engine , mainly want to keep it all steel, arches , sills the lot . Future plans are v8 in either front or rear ? The great thing is 4 bolts and the body comes off so its easy to work on and should be fun , will do a build post when we get going |

I'd like it if someone could do that and make it look like a car, not a Mini shell that has been stood on scaffolding on a chassis. That shell neds to be lowered 8 inches to look good. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

I am totally with you Vegard. This is a cool project for redrat - and I'd probably also go ahead and throw in a V8 and LT85 - but it'd be intersting to see a custom tube chassis that had been designed around the shell to begin with.

Redrat - what were the tools. Do the pliers still work? Unfortunately the pliers are now passed it , there was a mini based fun buggy next to the truck that had about 40 different spanners that are all now covered in about 5mm of rust ! You can just see the old style tool box which was full and so was the floor pan ! |

I know , from what I have been told the buggy was built and used a lot and the truck was one of 3 that he had, the other 2 were running and on the road , this one was ment to be the best one but due to personal circumstances it all had to go and he didn't want to loose these 2 so they were hidden in the middle of a field with no road access and trees / hedges all around. We literally had to get through hedges and drive through 3 fields to get to it ! |
