You say it can be driven home in the metro. Does this mean you are selling a metro turbo with this motor for £2600? If so you may get takers on the MOC. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

WRLondon - the T5 cam is listed as "the ultimate turbo cam with 300 degrees of exhaust duration and .400” lift" on the MED website.

Block is prepped for a Group A head gasket - can you still buy these anywhere? |

Hi Tim, the standard turbo head doesn't have enlarged chambers, only the ports have been enlarged. Unfortunately I never got round to working out the compression ratio, but it will be lower than standard because of the pistons.

Hi Stancemods, I think MED still stock these gaskets. |

I will also be including various standard MG Metro Turbo components such as plenum, turbo exhaust elbow, exhaust manifold, dizzy and a complete gearbox |

No, they are NLA I'm afraid. Phill took months to find one and eventually got one from Portugal iirc. and that was a jammy find from a post on here.

if that pic is of the engine at tdc, it looks like the Group A cutt outs could be removed with a hefty skim Yes i moved to the darkside

That is what I was thinking too Brett. Would require some correction of the rocker geometry though. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

If I remember right the cutouts are about 0.040" deep into the block, so would need a decent skim. |

The cut-outs would be easily fixed with a single sheet of 1mm stainless laser/water jet cut to the shape of the combined recesses (kinda like the outside of the audi emblem).

I've been tempted before to cut a recess just like that into a block and wire ring the head with a dry deck and have a copper fire ring water jet cut. who really needs a full face gasket when you dry deck anyway? Formula one engines don't even use a fire ring, just the wire ring! On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:
