ive had this car for about a year now but after it sitting in the garage not getting alot done i desided to get the real mini company to get the shell done and painted so i can have the fun part of rebuilding it.

So far its had new rear quaters new door skins and some other bits welded up. while the car has been at Dans it has given me time to get other bits sorted such as interior, wheels, arches, and all the seals and new brightwork etc it will be a slow rebuild though as between work a wife and 3 kids i dont seem to have much time lol.

the engine will be a blow threw supercharged 1330 with a stage 2 head and straight cut gearbox not sure what the power will be but just wanted to do something a little differant than the suck threw kit, as far as im a ware there is only 1 car that already has the kit on and the other will be jameswildcooper car which is being used to to make the kit again as the first was a one off.

The interior has been designed by me and made by Andy at optimise Automotive there wont be a back seat.

Wheels are force racing mini special split rims i will be running cooper 7.5 brake setup. the subframes have been powdercoated and are waiting for me to build the so that i can drop them off at the real mini company so the car can be mock built to make sure the arches can be trimmed to fit, i have gone for exsposed weave carbon fibre miglia arches and bumpers as well as a carbon rear valence. the front end is a 2 peace carbon kevlar front (which has been a nightmare to fit as the mould was very bad).the car will also have a full cage and will end up blue with a black roof.

enough talking i will add a link to the real mini compays restoration page and some pics that i have enjoy.

http://www.therealmi...estorationID=33 hopefully it works

Here are some of some parts and where I'm up to now

Seats before

And after

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

very nice clive, i would like to add "many" peeps in the past on here have fitted super chargers then some months on decide to go turbo, as the power is fixed and not adjustable, i think
they get the forced inducton bug and it gets a grip and they want more!

dont get me wrong nothing wrong with them, they sound great and make good lowdown & midrange power etc........

Some really top class work going on there, hats off!

Gonna be really nice to stand back and enjoy just looking at the fruits of your labour,

Love the special alloy splits and the recovered seats. :)

Sub frame look better than new, with super fins and new handbrake parts and quadrants.

Get some paint on those hubs though, sure you will and do you have some nice alloy ones on order ???

Keep us posted

Fantastic attention to detail, gonna be a show stopper / artical car no doult :)

Cheers

Thanks everyone for the comments. The colour is imperial blue and the roof is panther black. Benross I have been toying with ditching the charger for a turbo. The hubs are a spare set I have just put on so the car is rolling the refurbed ones are in the shed.

Managed to get out into the shed and strip the engine. Never done it before but really enjoyed taking it to bits.

Now I need to find somewhere to bore the engine out for me just a couple of questions. what else is worth getting done whilst its at the machine shop? And also who could you recommend that can do the work.

Thanks clive

Picked up a new block and crank the other week. Worked out cheaper to buy it than get mine done. Spoke to benross and hopefully he will be doing me a cylinder head as soon as I've sold some parts to pay for it lol. I've got to get this block taken out to 1330 as that is what pistons I have. If I can find what I've done with them that is lol.

I have another block I might see what the difference in price is to get that bored out instead. It's simply a case of what is my cheapest option lol. That is if I can find the pistons lol if not then I will have no choice but to buy some more in that case I will buy 1293 pistons.
