Carl Austin, uses the spray aswell.

I would say that a 50 shot is about as much as you want to use.

I am using a 100 shot with 50 fuel shot via a spray into the boost pipe before the plenum.gives about 60 bhp at the wheels.fun on the strip.

yep, i am doing the same.
In effect it is prob only 25hp but is a rough solution. ( my car 1972 is attempting to look standard) Further from the ports mean less inequality across the Siamese. less reaction though, I would say ok for road but a pulsed spray timed for the Siamese ports is required for anything other than fun, not that drag aint fun, what with those heels and all!!

I re read, sorry 50shot I have. wouldnt do more without further control and $$$

Edit to say: It costs too much in IRL for it to be road fun. Boost is better!!!

I have run Nitrous on a few of my Minis. It seems to work perfectly fine at 50bhp jets (25bhp actual). I found when you start to increases the jet size beyond 75 jets (37bhp actual) no really gains were found, and timing needed severely retarding.

At 120 jets, I melted my steel shim head gasket, melted 2 inner spark plugs, damaged 2 pistons from plug debris, damaged my full race block and head beyond repair. But most importantly only managed 14.1 quarter mile, compared to 13.9 on the Saturday at Avon. However my CR was 12.5-1, and I should have never risked it, but I was chasing Rich1380 for a sub 13.8 quarter.

On my supercharged engine, it loved nitrous. The cooling affect meant I didn't need the alter timing, even at 75 jets.

I wish I could I install cheating gas on all my cars, it really is great fun. The increase in instant torque is staggering, especially at mid revs. It's a shame is frowned upon and insurance companies hike premiums.

mine runs retarded anyway, plus fuel additive.I checked it for det on the RR,which is where the bhp figure came from. Now done about 12 runs on it,best of 12.3/110 but remember this is RWD.

I would just build an engine able to handle higher boost personally, and make the power that way. A little more initial outlay maybe on the engine. Simple low/high boost switch and jobs a goodun!

I'll do all the hard work digging it out and getting it onto the trailer and tow it to MITP if I can get to drive it once up the strip *happy* Otherwise, find some one else *tongue*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Make sure your pistons are up to it.

I ran a 50 shot on the 16 valver with a set of old school Cooper S pistons. Car went well, and wasnt untill I spent an hour driving round cheshire back roads with a reduced 25 shot that finally killed one of them. Ring lands were obviously broken, and the nitrous just found it and burned through the piston.

I wouldn't recommend it for a road car if you intend to jump in the car and go for a drive, though the problem with cylinder pressures in Aus might not be so much of a problem than can be over here.

You have to consider some sort of ignition retard when on nitrous, engine purge/ ignition cut after a stall to reduce the likelyhood of an inlet backfire, valves to isolate the nitrous line while the car is sat with the engine off, a gauge and a kit of jets.

Its bloody good fun, but messy. Ok if you like fiddling with valves and jets *happy*

I thought that a little shot of laughing gas was a good way to reduce or eliminate any turbo lag ?

Seems to do that David, but I wouldn't use it on the road, this thing is scary enough already!
