Custom Downpipe

After reading about peoples problems (and the problems i have had) with trying to fit the downpipe properly i decided to hack mine about and make a custom one. i onyl think this problem occurs when people havnt used a later type cooper subframe or make new mounting holes to bring the engine forward (i have not done either) but my downpipe should also stop the problems associated with movement within the exhaust system, see pics

That looks good, As that nuckle joint is a real pain, as it hits on the rolling road to!

You can also use the std metro turbo item... its got double springs, so sits strighter!

only prob with that alex is that is slightly smaller isnt it? but yeah a std metro is a good alterntaive.

Not sure.. I've only got two that are both 2nd hand... so nothing to compair to.

One was def off a metro and has the double springs... the other was single spring and thats the only difference.... but it could have been anything LOL!

yeah when i bought my engine it came with the metro downpipe and im sure it had 2 springs and it was a smaller diameter. i have a pic of it somehwere, will have a look for it

My downpipe seems to hang very low down its very close to the ground. 1310 turbo did you make it slightly shorter? fed up with it hitting everything lol

no its pretty much to the same dimensions as the maniflow turbo downpipe. mine before i cut it up didnt hang low to the ground
