Has anyone done (is it possible) a 11 stud conversion on the 998 block, there doesnt appear to me to be a lot of material around either end of the block near the bores.

9-stud will do the job fine.
If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Wil where did you get an 11 stud small bore gasket? I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

All the 11 stud engines use a 940 casting and hence largebore gasket. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

At the risk of being chastised heavily, why can't you just drill through the 998 gasket to make an 11-stud one ? Metric is for people who can't do fractions. |

I would have thought it would have been better to make a punch, less chance of separating the layers of the gasket that way. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

I don't think you can make the small bore head castings 11 stud. Edited by wil_h on 4th Dec, 2012. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

(Scrap that is until the prices they fetch make welding it up worthwhile.) I've got a corner in the shed with such scrap as well There's no point in drilling a small bore head to try. Look at it and you'll see why not. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
