The shell is pretty much all solid, just needs some changes and some weight saving!

I am looking to build a track/road car, not looking for practicality at all!

Main plans are to fit the zeemax bumpers (not to everyones taste i know but i have never seen a track version of the zeemax (there always show cars), Tune the engine based on Turbo Phills 130bhp spec for now untill i save more pennys! add lots of fibreglass panels and shave as much weight as possible.

Heres how she stood a few weeks ago.....

First job was to cut the front end off so i could tidy up the bay a bit and paint it.

After painting it i decided it was too messy so i have since gone back and cleaned up some of the seam sealer and also welded blanking plates into the holes in the bulkhead and repainted.

Tubbed both the rear arches, ( will upload pics of inside soon)

And i have purchased a pair of metro 4 pots and started painting them up

Also bought some solid subframe mounts

are you intending to keep the back seat? i'd be cutting out the back seat base otherwise if you are on a quest to loose weight

Small update from today - Welded in a plate to cover the original gearstick hole.

Then grinded down the welds.

Also carried on with the holesawing, still loads more to take out......

Also i need some advice on my turbo exhaust housing, have a look at the two picures below. How bad is this? It is more of a "deep scratch" then a crack but still

Thanks for reading.....

Don't worry about the crack too much. very common.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

First time i have working on the mini in months!!

So bit of an update, I painted up the rear subframe and all running gear.

Then moved to the front where i found hopefully the last bit of rust under the shock mount.

Then purchased ajustable bottom arms with rose joints, adj tie bars, front and rear Gaz shocks, Solid alloy subframe mounts and a couple of other bits

Front end now looks like this

I also found a nice bit of filler in both A panels!! Instead of replacing these im going to buy them included in the FGlass front end.

Got the hole saw out again and butchered some more....

I decided to cut the inner skin off the boot lid, it has actually stayed a lot more sturdy then i was expecting. I then welded some brackets in the boot to be able to fasten the clips onto

Thats all for now.... Thanks for looking.

Sadly I think my clubby may have you beaten in the filler stakes! It seems to have about 3mm on every panel!!!

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
