tryed searching for this but still cant get my head round this..
whats involved with building a straight cut box for a 998 and i mean everything, drops and gear but not dogged.. as i understand it the box internals are the same but do the drops differ?
like i said i just can seem to get my head round it can anyone help?

The crank is a smaller diameter where the primary gear goes on a 998, so you need a larger bush in the primary gear, otherwise it's all the same.

Careful that you buy the whole drop-gear train from Swifty as the primary gear is not compatible with the MS idler and input gear. Don't ask me how I know :(

I got a bush from this forum, think it was from joeybaby83. Was a long time ago.

Just replaced the bush in the 1275 primary gear so it could be used on 998 crank.

I'm sure any machine shop with a lump of the correct brass and some measurements could make a new bush to drop the 1275 gear down to 998 size.
