Ben and I want to put the bulkheads back in our hillclimbers (don't ask) so we're looking for a couple of bulkhead section that we can weld back in.

Anyone got any?

Try classic mini bits in Bradford. I've had some shell sections from them. They are near my work and I'm heading down to pie country on Wed night if they have one for Ben.

Well I think I could argue the toss. But what's the point? I can put it back (which is better anyway), and lose no performance, so might as well keep everyone happy.

We think they are legal, but we just can't be arsed with wanky scrutes that seem to think we are in F1.

I'm meant to be getting a rear end written off mini on Saturday, if it makes an appearance I'll let you know, the shell is going for scrap so I can cut out what you want.

That could be good. The section we want should be postable too.

just did this job, make sure you brace the bulkhead when cutting the old piece out or it may just spring inwards a bit like mine did. just a heads up :)

I've got a grotty shell I'm about to chop for use as a trailer - which specific section do you need ?

Basicall I'm wanting to replace the section I have cut out for the turbo box.

So looking at the photo below, a section a couple of inches around the box so I can trim to fit.

so they don't think the compressor is part of the induction system ?
If I remember correctly you are allowed to cut clearance of a specific size around any part of the induction system ?

Yes, this is what we are being told. As I've said to others, if I was building the car now I'd not fit the box, so it's no big shakes. It won't slow me down, so I'll just do it.

Wil, Ben, when you finally get hold of the offending piece, just cut and splice it in with the box still there, so it looks like it is right. Easier to take it back out when the regs or scrotes change again lol.

A good friend did this with his when he went to a 16v conversion from a turbo motor.

But think of the weight Colin.

Probably not a bad idea to weld it in first then remove from the back.

Thats good! But by the way Ben And Wil have talked in the past about the Scroats on these events, it's above their intelligence to consider it.

I had to revert my bulkhead, the ERA argument may be off due to the quantity built or some other clause in the "induction is free" reg.

Easy enough job to save the hassle, still plenty of room for the turbo.
