Right as she stands:

After the fiasco this is a clue to the route im taking:

Not going to have a turbo... For now.

For now it a case of get it going asap. Maybe aswell as the engine might rear beam it and rework the rear floor depending on how quick next summer comes around.

Didn't know you were in thrapston - my aunti lives there, spent loads of time around there as kids. :)

Clubby front?

Subby just looked big for a standard round nose. But if not they good oh!

agree - but you can fit most popular alien engines in a standard length front.

Good work, I'd like to vtec mine, but I like the hassle/pain/expense of making the a-series faster!

I love the a series but for a now a vtec will do. Ill get a more classic mini with a turbo in the future. For me it has to be a standard roundnose Because the exteneded noses look shite. And it isnt a clubby so a square front wont be going any where near it. Haha.

Just trying to sorce an engine/ donor as we speak.

Looking forward to working on it again and hopefully get it going.

Update:

Frame was fully sprayed a day adter the last update although dosnt look muh different on a photo but is nice and shiny in person :)

Front of the minature stripped and ready for a little but of welding, the window lip needs a couple patches but is much better than i anticipated, needs a patch under the drivers side shock mount, and the passenger side bit under the shuttle needs cutting out and replacing.

And picked this up:

Its a jdm, b16a from a del sol sir. Good history and a recent cambelt. Nothing to be done to this exept a general cleanup, take off all the extras i dont need like the powersteering pump and aircon pump. Going to paint the rocker cover in red wrinkle paint like the Type r lumps. In term of performance its 170bhp standard so wont need much more. So may just get a better ecu for to raise the revs a little.

Time to get building :)

Really cant wait to drive a mini again. Hopefully i wont loose too much of the handling characteristics of a normal mini.

Right got all the ancs off the engine ready for a clean up

Thinking as ive got a nippon sitting around im thinking of ditching the honda one and utilising what i have got as it will give me alot more room, should be able to swap the pulleys as they look very similar:

Been looking at my bottom arms, its either buy smaller rose joints, or drill out the subby to take these bolts. I think id rather have the thicker bolt supporting me and an upside may be that its easier to get those size rosejoints as they are standard bottom pin size.. See what you think and give me your opinions.

Managed to build my subby up bar the bottom bolts above:

Its going to plan so far. Next week im hoping to get the welding done and windscreen back in for my target.

Starting to enjoy this again :)
