had a call this morning from the bloke who has tigged up my manifold for me. slaved it all together to see how well it fits. proper chuffed now. gonna have to get it home and fit it to the mini. balls to the blower!!!

Looks good. Gets damn close to that inlet though. Are you at all worried about heat soak? If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

yeah. the inlet manifold wasnt bolted up tight so hung down slightly. got some bits of sheet titanium here so could maybe make a couple of small heatshields for the inlet/exhaust areas. balls to the blower!!!

yeah its a GT1549 from a rover. it should fit yeah. i know it went down the back of the engine ok without touching the bulk or block. i had to move my actuator though and trim the bracket off. dont think its good for high bhp or rpm, but recon it will be good for low down power.

cock. have to make a slight ajustment to the bulkhead. the guy who welded the manifol hasn't put the turbo flange at the correct angle and now it needs about 1/2" x 3" piece taking out and boxing in. the whole reason i wanted this type was to save cutting the bulkhead at all. fuck fuck fuck.

cut the flange of and weld another on in the right place. probably better than modifying the shell... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

the only problem is its the little piece from the manifold t piece to the flange, and now the hole is opened up on the inside. might take it back and see what he can do. he did it for free so i cant complain too much i suppose.
