Well I’ve been a member for a good while now and have been meaning to start a build thread for forever, so here we go, although not a lot of building is going on at the moment.
This is how she looked in 2007

And this is her more recently

As you can see there's still a lot to do
The plan was to turbo the original 998 and I was gradually getting everything I needed but then I ended up buying an elder 8port. I’d been wanting an 8port ever since I saw Paul Wiltshire’s in the November 2001 issue of miniworld and I had money and couldn’t resist! Ardens weren’t available at the time and with the elder being easier to fit I thought why not. Anyway with being at uni and having chucked most of my money at the head not a lot has happened since so I thought I’d make a build thread and maybe it’d give me some inspiration to drink less and spend my money on my mini.
Summer break from uni is coming up so hopefully there’ll be update after update coming soon :)

Looks great and the spec sounds good, just a bit unsure about where it says (home made ) exhaust manifold. Unless you do it for a living id buy a nice maniflow one to go with the rest of the good spec components.

rick

ps get some pics of the head up .lol

I'd love to get something on the road Louis, a long way to go yet though, you'll have to help me out *wink*
Just ordered bearings so i can start the engine build when i'm home in June :)

Here's a few pics of my head

cossierick, i thought i'd give it a go, got a decent Tig at home so can't hurt to try :)

Rob Gavin, i concede your project is definitely slower, mine's depressing enough and it's 'only' been off the road 5 years!
