Still For Sale, 1994 Mini Cooper SPi Rolling Shell with V5 currently on sorn

I still have this 2 years after this original sale. It deffo needs to go to a good home now as a change in job will prevent me from doing anything with it.

The shell has all the rot that is usually associated with these late model cars, but, is surprisingly good in many of the areas where they are normally really really bad. The bloke I bought it from has cut out the boot floor, rear valance and bumper lip, had a go at one of the inner sills and ruined perfectly good door frames in the same way but it is in no way unfixable especially depending one what your intended use will be. There has been absolutely ZERO welding done on this shell not one repair patch or replacement panel, it is still all original, other than the rot. The boot floor has been cut out, the rear bumper seam/ lip has been cut off, rear valance cut off but the corners and closing panels still there, the front panel bumper lip and number plate brackets have been cut off, the passenger door frame has had the inner panel cut out completely and the drivers door frame has had some cuts in an effort to do the same. One sill has been cut at, in the rear bin area

The shell is perfectly straight, no crash damage and no dings in the roof, both rear quarters true with no dings. All the sound deadening on the inside floors has been removed, as has most of the under seal on the outside.

General rot areas are, both wings/ windscreen scuttle not just the corners, upper dash rail, both A panels, passenger side inner flitch panel around demist vent, both outer sills, areas of the inner sills, front panel may be salvagable, slight rot hole in floor panel by tunnel where heat sheild mounting screws were.

Good points. Both A posts solid, door steps and lower rear quarters solid, maybe an odd blister of rot on the drivers door step under the door seal but the steps themselves are solid

Plenty of pictures below to look at.

Basically, the rot you expect to see on any mini but with the added bonus of not having been patched up by a plethera of retarded MOT fix it and bodge its.

Shell is fitted (loosley) with a genuine SPi rear subframe and running gear from another car as I bought this as a shell with a box of bits and zero running gear. Passenger side radius arm is bent. The frame bolted onto this shell surprisingly easy indicating that the subframe is straight. The rear frame is in very good condition and is a genuine Rover item so holds value alone. Front subframe is again loosely fitted, but is an earlier frame with the straight front stretcher bar. all tyres are fucked but they hold enough air to get it rolling. Steering rack, column and pedal box present. Hand brake functions (had a new cable to be honest to get it working)

Car is on SORN and on a private plate (Irish with a 'Z') of no real value or significance, could be transfered back to the age related plate I suppose for a charge by DVLA, but again would depend on what you want out of it.

Car needs to be trailered away. The only brake that works is the hand brake. It deffo rolls with fresh air in the tyres and a push.

I'll include two other doors (may need a little work) along with the butchered originals, a Mk3 boot lid bought from Paul Wiginton, again needs a little work. I also throw in one replacement sill panel i just bought from John just a couple of weeks back and lower rear panel repair section, both Genuine Heritage. The rear repair panel alone will set you back nearly £160!!!! the rear repair panel has a few small screw holes in it where it was held temporarily onto a car (Paul Wiginton's car to be precise).

Basically what you are buying is a shell that has had ZERO welding (when was the last time you saw one of those?!), solid areas that are normally rotted out, and is as straight as it left the factory

Located not far from junction 21A M6/ J9 M62 Warrington.

I have nothing to hide.

Bargin ! £250

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Helpful!

With 4 posts you need to be more cautious what you type, how you type it, and where you type it.

Still available. rolling Shell with V5

Doors been removed now, hinge studs sheared off though.

will throw in anything else I have I can find that would go with this car (fuel lines listed for free elsewhere for a start) I'm sure I have the seatbelts and headlamps, maybe tail lamps.

There's got to be £250 in this at the very least.

If you think that is rotten, then you've not looked at many Minis
