nice cars; what was the reasoning behind putting the rad in the boot?

to be honest it was fine because its got the external water pump aswell. and i used to have a switch i turned on or off but im changing it so i comes on automatically i think so i dont forget to turn it on.

rob it was in the boot when i brought it but the reason he did it was for the intercooler at the front. only thing the guy did was he wasnt bothered by how it looked and the pipe work was awful so i new when i started to do the bodywork i was going to make it look far neater.

that answers that then! I first looked at the photos and though the copper pipe in the car was the fuel line!

Brave man, cant the header go in the boot?

It was like it when I got the car so didn't see a problem. I'm just making it look neater than it did. And only thing bad about having the pipes in there is it gets rather warm.

And no can't get it in the boot as it will sit too low. It was something I looked at.

What about a similar sort of height in the boot with an access hole in the parcel shelf? Was the header there before? If you run into any issues head gasket etc there will be a load of steam coming to attack you.

Yh was in the same position mate but in a plastic tank which was awful. And it's over heated since I've had it because I forgot to turn the fan on and all it did was go out from the rad.

Looking good there and i also like the different approach to cooling. As others have commented, I would possibly rethink about having the expansion tank within the car itself. I thought about this with my car but had advice from many car builders that it could pose a danger to the occupants of the car if anything went wrong.
