Here is my mini project which I have been building for the past 3 years.
Originally a 1275LS 1978 Leyland Clubman which was accident damaged.

Now it is a Round nose with a Zeemax body kit and the engine a 1340cc with a Vmax kit fitted.

Paint is Wizard Blue to Red and the upholstery is all re-trimmed with White leather

The engine was first run on an engine dyno and produced 155 bhp and 142 ft/lb @ about 13lb boost.

Still needs to be sorted on the road as we have much more humidity in Sydney and I am finding the inlet tube between the carby and the Supercharger is getting very cold and producing a lot of condensation.

I have seen a guy Double skin The manifold and heat it by running the heater line through it.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I really like aussie doors and handles.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

the carb icing is because the carb is far too far away from the inlet to the head.

Another guy called graham. The bloke has some serious skills so it's defo not me.

Andy, mine will do this even with a short manifold, even in +20deg heat, it doesn't seem cause any bad running. Only notice it when its been on the motorway, so it's fair guzzling the fuel..

Oh on a different note, I would guess a 45 would suit the kits well. Get short manifold, and a pump type fuel system., so over run issues should be minimal. Plus the sound, let's face it if you run an sc your not bothered about mpg. Saying that the lad with the blue van(kompressor on the back) was saying he could get 40 mpg? That was ac Dodd tuned.

Hi guys,
Thanks for your comments
I had the car on the chassis dyno today and the engine behaved much different to when it was fitted onto the engine dyno. It was suffering from bad pinging under power, which was partly solved by reducing the ignition advance and changing the carby needle for a richer one. End result is a much better car on the road, but found the carby looks to be a limitation to developing any more power as the AFR. Was leaning out over 5500 rpm, but to further richen the needle would create drivability issues.
Overall though the engine sounds great and will pull from 1500 rpm in 4th with no hesitation and this is with a 3:1 diff ratio. Much fun to drive*happy*

I fitted a 40 to mine and made my own manifold from a steel a series manifold I cut and swaped the tubes over. We saw 20hp gain but it need some big ass tubes and jets to get it right. I rekon 10 -12 mpg now on a good day.
