The SPI pump gives about 1 bar of pressure so will do for about 10psi of boost, the MPI pump is about 3 bar iirc so will be fine for 30 odd psi of boost. |

you can replace the spi ones with a pump from something like a puma or some hondas etc. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

join the wires inside the tank, bit of hose to join the new pump to the existing plumbing On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

The link I gave you is a kit everything you need is in there, the mod you have to do with that kit, shorten the feed pipe about 1/2", and the carrier, cut a piece out so you can sit the pump in, then use a plastic tie to hold it in place, job done, got my tank off at the moment trying to suss the smell of petrol in boot, if I decide to take out the pump again while sussing the smell Ill post a picture.. Just swapped my spi tank over to an mpi pump the other day, one thing i noticed which bugs me is the fact the spi pump pulled off the feed pipe tightly, but once taken off, neither the spi or mpi pumps seal as tightly as the spi once did, so i reckon its gonna just piss fuel out around the pipe under pressure... You wont get that with the kit I fitted because the pump is connected via a piece of rubber pipe and two jubilee clips..

Since it's a spi pump i just ordered the one from the link of .bay. A simple swap and one more job sorted. God i love this forum there is nothing wrong with a A-series that a turbo can't fix.

The thing about it being loose on the connection to the pipe I'm also concerned about :/ On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

how do i know if my tank is spi or mpi? The Majority of MPi tanks have a shorter filler neck. Thta is likely to be the most concusive evidence. I'm not sure sound deadening is that conclusive as I have an SPi tank with sound deadening On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

Tank is immaterial. Take the pump out, read the part number of it and do a search.
