Just had my shell and subframes dipped by them. Very good service and the shell looks great without a trace of anything left on it.

They even let us leave the trailer there for a week while they had the shell.

They charge £500 + vat for a whole mini (shell, bolt on panels, wheels and subframes). I paid £425 +vat for the shell and both subframes.

SPL wanted close to £2k to dip and e coat. Another firm doing a similar process wanted £700ish to strip and another few hundred to coat it with something similar.

So they do dip it in an undercoat then? Similar to the e-coat process?

The turbo build has finally started

No. They put a iron phosphate coating on it to stop it flash rusting in the short term.

They can powder prime it and bake that on so it gets into all the cavities etc.

A few small holes and a few pin pricks, so not bad at all.

And generally their waiting time (and turn around time) are much better than SPL etc.

Warwick.

Whats the turn around for this? is it done in a day type thing? just wondering cos im quite far away and be ideal if i could just mill about for a day and return trip shell in tow. SPL put me right off the idea of dipping till now

David.

left mine with them for a week, but I'm sure they could do it in a couple of days if needs be.

Think it would be more than a day, it quite a lengthy and involved process. The shell is heated in an oven first before going through the dip. I think they may be left in the dip overnight.
