Picked it up on the weekend, will be stripping it this week and seeing whats what. Basically it will need a lot of welding, but all the bits are there and my mate Cheeky Scott (who sprayed my metro) is mini mad and will do the body work / spraying here in Bournemouth

Its not an original colour its like a duck pond green, we are thinking it was originally denim blue but we will see.

Has a metro loom for the engine and a metro fuse box and interior loom with metro clocks

Looks like this on the back of a truck

There is also talk of junking the 160vvc (which has a MEMS2 loom, inlet and manifold due to me having this left over from my metro vvc), we have a Rover 100 Ascot that could take this, and putting a 1.8 turbo in with an emerald and shooting for 220bhp but will need a PG1 and quaife diff for that

Will owned the car then too, nothing to do with me. If I remember correctly I helped drill some of the holes and drop the engine in. Will did the steering himself.

Took the engine out today and cleaned the engine bay out

R65U wants to be changed to a PG1 with torsen, but as yet havent found one. Should have the front back to metal soon clean up the crap welding and get it sprayed so i can fit the engine

Need to change the SPI tank fuel pump to the VVC one i took out the tro, feed some pipes front to back and hook up the front brakes before the engine fitting

Going to take the 185 55 13 Toyo road pros off the GTA wheels and fit them to my MPI's for the metro

Need ideas on what wheels to fit so it doesnt look like a mini on metro wheels. Will run 175 50 13's too

Have no ide a

Few things changed, i bought a PG1 with a torsen diff so going to change out the R65U as the car will be tracked and looking at 1/4 mile times the diff cars are 0.5 quicker in the late 13s

Also removed the cross spoke alloys and stole the near new Toyo Roadpro 185 55 13s and put them on the metro

So had to fit my Avon ZZRs which look ok, my mate says it looks like a mini on a metro chassis but will collect steelies from Tony Itsonlyme on thursday, along with MGF Calipers, carriers, 160 6 bolt manifold and MGF shafts for the PG1. I have some spare discs and pads (chocolate green stuff) for the time being

Spacers on the back look er fooking big

Subframe is new with braided lines for the brakes with spax shocks *wink*

yes if i didnt want to go round corners

T series are lovely engines and very tuneable, but way way to heavy for a mini unless it was mid engined

Also they wont fit the subframe as the water pump fouls, could fit an electric one though

But not after a drag racer just something to scare people with

gonna stick with the 160 vvc on this one

But with the metro it has shorter con rods, or you can use the 1.8 Turbo k series bottom end

Oh well looks like a trip to Santa Pod and being beaten by a 1.8 turbo metro has made me realise my mini needs a turbo !

So we have bought a 75 Turbo with a blown head gasket for £450, will be getting the help of the ever helpful itsonlyme to strip the engine have a loom and ecu from the metro boys will be shooting for 200bhp on the std engine which shouldnt be a problem.

Gearbox from the Metro will be used, as mini has much smaller tyres and will have a type A torsen diff from the 820 turbo box i just bought for the elise

Will get pics up soon

Not much has been done as manic busy at work but collected the 75 1.8 Turbo which is now at itsonlyme's having the HGF fixed

Should have the engine soon, can then bolt it in and have a Zandf remapped ecu and loom from the guy i sold my 1.4 to so should be close to the 200bhp mark once the 2 1/2" exhaust has been made with no cat :)

Also had a new pedal made to go around the steering column

Had a K7 gearbox made up by Matt Parker with a Type B that needs to be collected and will be using the metro flywheel and 220 turbo clutch

Also got some 175 50 13 A539 yokos for £150 which are basically brand new......

Bought an oil cooler off ebay from an unknown k series engine, looks like the one fitted to my 160 VVC but should be enough to help keep temps down. Its water cooler and will be plumbed in some how

Engine is still in rover 75 but its getting a new head gasket, water pump, idler cam belt and so on as we speak and will be out next weekend

Built a Steel caged bearing PG1 with K7 Gearset and had a type B Torsen diff fitted too, should be nice on the motorway about 22mph per thousand

Final Drive 3.647
1st 2.923 2nd 1.750 3rd 1.222 4th 0.935 5th 0.765

1st 5.55 per 1000rpm 39mph @ 7000rpm
2nd 9.27 per 1000rpm 65mph @ 7000rpm
3rd 13.28 per 1000rpm 93mph @ 7000rpm
4th 17.35 per 1000rpm 121mph @ 7000rpm
5th 21.21 per 1000rpm 148mph @ 7000rpm

Have finally decided on a colour and its going to be black, wife found out i had bought it and insisted it be black so had the front slam panel sprayed ready for the engine

Fuel pipes have been stolen from an MPI mini, and will be making up the brake pipes soon

3mm spacers fitted to the front and wheels now clear too
