this has happened to a few of us, my fasteners some how unlodged letting the bonnet lift and it just ripped off the last two fasteners at the back and up in the air,

jamesfawcets mini i think it just lifted and flew off but i think he managed to get his back together with tiger seal,

bad luck mate

It happened to me too, snapped a corner off my fibreglass bonnet, I salvaged it with some fibreglass and filler though.

mine happened because it was a 'ready to fit' one, with the hinges bonded in at the back and the spring attachment at the front. Only down fall is you can't attach the safety hook, so when i was flying down the mway and the spring let go so did the bonnet! So lesson learned there.

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

failing that get a carbon one
probably cost the same trying to get it matched! *wink*

I had a blue mini cab that someone kindly poured brake fluid over the side and the bonnet and no-where could guarantee a colour match as it also had metal flake in the paint!

cheaper to get the whole car painted!
plus hopefully the carbon one would be abit stronger!

main thing is that you didnt get hurt!

Go on, be brave, put it in the car and tell us how it works.
Pity your bollocks are in line with the flywheel!

If I had a bright coloured car, a carbon bonnet would be fitted by now, don't think one would suit a brittish racing green car.
