I got our soft covers out of Tesco of all places; reduced from £40 down to a £5 so bought enough for all the cars in the shed; keeps the crap off but they are too big for a mini in reality

I have the voyager Mini cover, it is an excellent bit of kit, a really good fit to the car.

Not sure, it is quite a tight fit, it just about makes it over Sportpack arches. You can borrow it and try if you want.

I may take you up on that once it's painted. too dirty and the odd sharp edge at present.

i've had 2 off these and i either got a dodgy batch but both lasted a year at best if that and ripped easily. compared to the halfords one personally unless there is some unseen magic whale sperm on the ms one that makes it ultra waterproof i cant see a difference or justify that price :)

Haha, he had to replace one recently, at some hour of the morning a punk walked past his house pissed up, ripped his car cover that was over his shell and climbed in through the door's window and slept there for the night. Then buggered off in the morning haha. He watched it back on his cctv pointing down the drive.
There's also a car cover advertised in the trade sales section i think.

I'd recommend tarpaulin sheet + bungees!

Been on my Mini for ages and been fine. Used to use an expensive 2-layer custom cover but weather ruined it so I ended up disappointed investing so much money in it. May be car covers these days last the test of time better especially if you choose one that matches what you need but you can't go wrong with a cheap tarpaulin.

Edit: Nevermind, just noted "inside garage" doh! It'd still work tho and it's cheap!

Yes it will fit over a clubby, we've had the monsoon ones on both round front and clubby. I've also got one of the stormforce ones, and quite frankly, its shite!, nowhere near as waterproof as the monsoon.

Bit of a post resurrection. I'm looking for a decent outdoor cover as it looks like the turbo may stay at the house through the winter months.

Apparently we might get some wet weather up here so looking for something breathable. I've had a look at the ones in the links but just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?

Rob, I've never been a fan of using covers outside. Wind and rain means they can rub the paint and leave dull areas.
If it's got to stay outside personally I would wax it to within an inch of its life then just make sure the door seals etc are good to keep it dry inside.

And spray some thing like Waxoyl underneath. That is what I have done to the MX5 which will have to live outside

I'm with tom. A car port style contraption would be great then it won't get the battering from the rain etc but can breath . My mate used to put his car in winter mode lol , he would wipe Vaseline all over the chrome etc and then just wash it off with warm water in the summer .

I've got a a-series spares one, my mini has been outside for a few months now. Every time I go to take her out, in whatever weather it is bone dry underneath. I have spoken to the guy who makes them and he has nothing but good to say about them.

it has straps to tie it down and it fits pretty snug
