Hi all

Been lurking since selling the yellow turbo , have had a few cars since including a mint mk1 cortina gt , started and got half way through a 1960 Anglia with lotus twin cam got offered silly money for both so they went and instead of paying the bills which is boring i got myself a Porshe 996 C4s *surprised*

The Porsche is tucked up in the garage till the spring so after some wheeling and dealing i got a very nice 1985 vw caravelle T25 bus been using it 3 months without any probs .

Saw a very nice Metro turbo for sale on Ebay went to veiw it and wtf its the same guy i bought my 2000 mile Mini cooper Rsp off!

This is the cleanest One i have seen and has the benifit of a rebuilt engine box clutch , brakes etc so a deal was done and i picked it up Friday!

Has one rust bubble on the bootlid , 2 centre caps missing and a nearside wheelbearing.

Hope you like

Steve

That looks beautifully clean, 80's cars are really beginning to appreciate in value now there are none left, it's well worth keeping hold of a good one if you get one.

Ford prices do seem to be getting silly, it is something I can't understand as my friend had a 107E and I can not explain how terrible it was. It didn't accelerate, it didn't stop, you can't drive it up hill as it won't make it and if you try and drive it down a hill it won't stop. The wipers only work at idle and you may as well not bother with the lights as they are so dim. The steering is vague and if you try and drive round a corner it falls over. I can't understand how it was acceptable in 1959 so I really can't see why anyone would want to own one today. Maybe the Cortina is better, I don't know, I've never driven one. I think the Porsche sounds like a much better option.

Hi Steve
Glad to see this car has found a good home. I went to see it up in Walsall in June last year when it was first sold (i was the second highest bidder). It was one of the cleanest examples i have seen (bar my 17k one). It has had a windows out respray prior to going into storage (the respray was done at a Rover bodyshop as the previous owner worked at the dealership.

Well a small update ....

Had a few of the paintwork issues addressed , fitted a new stainless exhaust system (cheers mayoturbo) full serviced and had the wheels refurbed and found somecaps .
Will sort some pics out soon .

Used the beast today and after covering about 300 in total i broke down (see help section)

Teething probs i suspect or is it coz its a metro...lol
