ive been building this caron and off for about 2 years and i have never started a build thread. theres lots to come but for now i post a picture of where it is at now. im going to be in the feb issue of mini mag for on the job, then ill post all the pictures from the build so far...

the light in this pic isnt great. its actually VW alpine white. so a very deep gloss slightly off white....

Thanks. The cage is a very basic Geronimo cage that was stripped and feet cut off and welded in. Then the rest is custom. Only the main hoop and legs are Geronimo On 27th Apr, 2010 Rick.SPI said:

yer its all welded in so just got painted with the car :) theres alot of black and carbon bits going inthe car and little touches that will break the white up alot too

I think james has had a few probs with his KAD rear hubs, and getting the bearings to fit right??

never fitted rear wheel bearings before ever. fitting them into brand new kad rear hubs was scary. got them in and then onto the car and as soon as i tighten the nut just tight by hand they hardly spin. On 27th Apr, 2010 Rick.SPI said:

You using genuine bearings? Timken bearings have a built in spacer and touch in the middle when the bearings are pushed all the way in. If not, I got a link for some cheap genuine bearings. COme with grease caps too. Also, If you take the hubs off the radius arms, pop 'em in the oven, the old bearing races pop out. Remember, bearings and races are matched. |

Link? I can guide you through it. I just did mine. I didn't like the idea of smacking the bearings into my new hubs so I just heated them.
