Haha that is pretty funny. Mine is far from gay tho - it's fooking quick, warm in winter - even the wipers remove rain from the screens! And gets me to work and back with out the engine falling apart.

Lolll,

I must admit I have been thinking about buying a 172 for a daily in the winter. Mini keeps letting me down and I've missed a ton of lectures already - its only going to get worse aswell

People seem to give the BMW MINI a hard time, my girlfriend has a supercharged Cooper S and it will run rings around an awful lot of stuff in completely standard guise. The only things I could critiscise it for are probably that it needs an LSD, and it could do with some more brakes when you push on it in.

Its not a Mini and never will be, but in its own right its a damn good handling car.

As a standard upgrade, or did you fit it?

yeah optional extra at production, only thing that’s been a pain is that the track rod ends have seized, BMW replacement is expensive!

TBH I think everyone thinks that as well, I mean you can se ehow popular they are - thing that annoys people and gives them ammunition to take the piss is the mini branding. If it was a british company building them or if it was given a completley different identity to mini then it wouldnt really have any grounds to be the brunt of jokes

all in all thought it was a funny pic :)

I had a boggo 1.6 car for a loan car once. It was a bit dull, but then I only took it up and down the M1 to Leeds. I can see the attraction. I guess the cooper S' are a different machine....

Near Paris - France

I like to feel like a hero when I'm doing 90 mph on the back roads, probably not gonna have the feeling in a bini ...

(probably not gonna happen in my mini for quite some time either ...)

i think its a good all round car and if it was launched without the mini branding and everything else classic mini its linked too i still think it would be as popular as it is

Fastest A Series Mini in the World

leeds/wakefield.

This conversation has cropped up many many times over the years and what i tell people when they start calling them minis is that when Ford brought out the sierra in the early 80s at least they didn't name it Cortina.
