hello
i am thinking about my furture engine my 998 hc is done (no turbo)and i have an other old engine pre A+ and i want to convert this one.
now looking for the part
the spec :

pre a+ whith dished piston
hif 38
t2 turbo
mg metro camshaft
ported 12G940(29X33) 22.5 cc
no pocketing
tc =8.5

my spec are good ?

a HIF38 will be a pain. Better to use the metro turbo HIF44 and associated plenum, it'll save lots of messing around.

tc? whats that do you mean CR? if so, then 8.5 will be fine. However, most 998 pistons have a 5.5 or 6cc dish and with no pockets this gives more like 9:1 CR, which is also fine.

Don't forget some decent ignition advance control like megajolt or similar.
