im looking to turbo in the long run but for now i want to change my head and cam,

i can get hold of a 12G295 and a 12G240,
which would be the best??
and i want to turbo it sometime next year so i dont want to mess with the cr to much :/

and i have been told mg metro cam is the best for a every day, fast road car??

Unless you want to pocket your block or go for monster power, I'd stick with the 295.

Also the MG Metro Cam would be a good choice.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

well i have looked, ive typed in do i need to skim a 12G295, and 12G295 and look through loads of topics but none say about if it needs to be skimmed

I'm sure it does say in hundreds of topics that the standard 295 with 28cc chambers will give 9.3:1 CR with flat top pistons and that this is suitable for 12psi (or more with good fuelling and IC).

If not, then this one now does!

Cant you receed the valves into the head to prevent them from hitting the block instead of pocketing the block? i remember K Calver doing so. Worked ok for him, not on a turbo application mind..
