Thought I'd share my power graph from todays rolling road visit. Blue is 7psi, Brown @ 12psi and Yellow is 14psi showing 149.5bhp @ the wheels and 170bhp @ flywheel. We only went upto 6k, as engine as only covered 400 miles and power seemed to level by then anyway. The curves look similar to n/a power runs due to the slow spooling oversize choice of turbo, that builds boost far to slowly for my liking.

That develops peak torque quite low down really. My N/A motor needs a good 1000rpm more to peak. On 19th Feb, 2011 Miniwilliams said:

Brett, I was going to try a run at 16psi, but bottled it has AFR was creeping up with more boost (12.4 at 14psi) and I ran out of time to carry out more needle work. I plan to run 16/18 at the TM rolling road day, but don't think I dare risk anymore.

We started with a BCA and just added more boost until it was OK. 25psi and counting... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Well, that power curve gives an SOT of 11.23 at 6k, so it is up there with the best.

Sorry to be stupid but what is SOT? Im not 100% on accuracy of results, in my experience these rollers normally show 10% to high, based on my dyno'd 1380na & prevous engines run on other rollers. I did however change the dyno setting to show 10% less for these runs with an increased load. Class C 3rd Place Avon 2011 14.18 @101mph |

It's Robert's equation that gives a specific output fron an engine:

Paul, the turbo does peforms quite well , just spools and builds it boost very progresive and slowly due to over sized compressor wheel, I would prefer my boost lower down, which would make a far better road car. Maybe its just me comparing it to my race 1380. I plan to do back to back test with a standard T2 before moving to the GT Series. Im pleased with the SOT , I guess we will confirm the results at the TM shootout. Either way 14-16psi feels way to much on the road especially with a torque steer issues. i know your turbo isnot the usual suspect but is there not a compressor housing available with a smaller a/r to just swap out?

Brett, no others seem to be available. The housing as been machined to accept t28 55 trim wheel. The housing is .48, which should be ok with the smaller t25 50 trim. But would mean new housing, wheel and machining. I think oem spec is a better starting point to build from, hence standard t2, gr17 etc.

Maybe rev it a bit harder then if its late to build boost, the spec of the engine looks up to it.
