We've got three trees that need to come down Rob if you want some more free wood. 2 of them are biggys too.

It's the lengthwise split that always challenges us.

I've just ordered a new chain for my chainsaw, I'm looking forward to fitting it as I cut down a small conifer the other day and would have been faster with a junior hacksaw!

The cherry tree is only little and it's properly dead, won't take much chopping down. The other two have 120ish years growth on them, but they are knocking my wall down so will have to go... Robert check out hot saws on YouTube, I bet they will be up your street. Chainsaws with tuned pipes etc. My bro has been collecting the parts to put one together as he cuts trees for his job. |

Rod, out of interest, has the timber been treated? I've always been a little concerned with burning treated timber in 'confined' spaces ie indoors in an open fire

Only softwood so about half the CV of hardwood and a bit more ash but cheap :) One of my neigbours gets it from a roof truss manufacturing company down in Ipswich - it's all the offcuts that they would have to pay an environmental charge to dispose of (or get prosecuted if they burnt it).
