There has been a fatal accident today at York raceway, the first in its long history. While this is a tragic accident, does this put the tracks future on the cards? Those who have been know that it was far from perfect and certainly needed some investment to bring it up to the standards of Shakespeare at the very least.

I see mention on another forum that Crail suffered a fatality in recent weeks too ?

According to the reports he lost control the car rolled and burst into flames, thoughts to the family its a shame accidents happen there is nothing that you can do really is there, i dont think it will be shut down as all the race tracks say motorsport is dangerous. Drives

This is purely my opinion, but at York, the barriers are not all the way along the track, and, the shut down lane has no barriers either, so if you loose it, you're in the field. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

Terrible news, I believe that guys was only 23 as well, my thoughts go out to the guys family. Its such a shame but York does need some decent money spending on it, its just not up to scratch. Predictably its on youtube already. On 18th Oct, 2013 apbellamy said:
