Hi, Spent yesterday working out where my IC could go. Im just doing a dry build using a spare engine. What do you think to postion and possible air flow?

I have cut the flip front back to the grill to aid flow. The grill as also been modified to prevent a much restriction as possible. Do you think this will work?

Yes it will work, it would be more effective if you could move the ic further down so there's more of it in the airflow, the grill will not resrict much as the slats are angled so the airflow flows up towards the intercooler.

If you put a good bit of ducting on that it will be perfect

I would have liked it to sit lower, but that meant cutting the grill. Im really don't want the intercooler on show. Do you think I should block of the lower part of the grill to force more air upwards? Was planning on some sort of ducting, but no ideas yet.

What about behind the intercooler?

The way i see it. Its all abit like your kitchin sink. You can take the plug out but run both taps at full pelt.

Youll be able to fill the sink quicker then youll be able to drain it. Because of the restriction at the bottom of the sink.

There is a 3" gap behind the intercooler, but your right the starter motor and alternator restrict excaping air. I guess it all a compromise? Plus hot air entering the radiator and air filter, not to mention very little cold air to the non water cooled turbo. I think I will have devise a way to feed fresh cooler air to the turbo. Separate thread I think.

what about more holes in the bonnet?

Thought about that, but holes the same size & placement would miss the IC and you could also easily recognise the IC. I want the car to look stelf, with very little clue it's a turbo. The other holes improve radiator cooling massively, its just looks black through them. I'm hoping they also supply air to the bulkhead area to absorb heat from the turbo.

the only thing I'd sugest is maybe adding a duct forward to the grill to force the air through the core,
