For those of you who have enjoyed the delights of Castle Combe - you will be dissappointed to hear that North Wiltshire District Council have served a Noise Nuisance Order on Castle Combe Circuit.

As usual this is due to a tiny number of local residents....

Anyway this means that british gt's and F3 would no longer be able to visit the circuit - and of course there would be financial implications for Castle Combe Circuit.

- it would be a shame that one of the friendliest and enviromentally considerate circuits would have loose some of it's most prestigious meetings due a small minority of ****s you can also fill out this online petiton.

Jesus Christ! I imagine the track wasn't there when they decided to move in next to a f*cking racing circuit then?!!

I've copied this to Miniclassic & Pistonheads.

Well the track opened in the early 50's, so I would imagine that a couple of the residents might have known about it before they moved in.

Maybe they only made viewings during the week, woul have come as a nice surprise on the first sunday morning in their new home.

another thing similar, we've got a load of test beds to test our gas turbines. over the road they're now building a housing estate. they reckon in a couple of years they'll close the site down via complaints about noise/smell.....

our site has been there donkeys years. we'r.e one of the few companies that actually operate in the town centre

One I know of, a rolling road situated in a college, has been stopped from working as some old biddy living in the newly built houses behind it has complained about the noise.....

They are trying to get some kind of noise absorption barriers made so they can use it again.

its pathetic really :(

Yeah we have the same kinda people round our way. They complain about people speeding along there road!

There answer, put speed bumps down (the annoying ones designed to fit between your wheels and take your exhaust off (they were probably sponsored by quick-fit).

The piss take is, on more than one occasion ive been over taken by cars on this stretch of road only to have to break hard because the fucker thats overtaken me is turning into there drive along that stretch of road!!

These people are complete pricks, My dad used to let an apartment above a pub and he got taken to court by the new tennants because of the noise polution?? ARSEHOLES the world is full of them but most of them live next to race circuits. Croft is the same they have a bunch of pricks with fuck all to do with their time so they get a hobby of winging when there is a race meeting their and tyhats been their since 1920 and during the war it was used for bloody American bombers! They should get themselfes a hobby or a bbq or something

I think York raceway suffered a similar problem. New houses built close to the track, people moved in, complained about the noise and wanted it shut down.

WTF is the world coming to, its not as if its the wee hours in the morning, or all the time. I supose it makes those who have little else to live for feel that they have some control over their life
