I'm just now finetuning my FI setup. And one of the things I have noticed is that the MAP reading moves around a lot. It's most noticable on cruise where it can be constantly moving around 20KPA.

This is wit ha steady TPS reading, steady rpm and the boost gauge is rock solid.

Is this an over sensitive MAP sensor? is there electronic supression on the MS board? or is there some physical supression I can add?

Cheers

you can stick a fuel filter in line with a mig tip in the engine side as a cheap accumulator,

I did this on mine as the varing map signal kept setting off my accel enrichment, (I later found the real reason was how I'd earthed the MS but I left it on there anyway)

Carl,

at the time I didnt realise that you should runn all the sensor grounds (tps, IAT, water) back to the sensor ground pin on the MS and then Ground the MS to the block with the lambda sensor,

I tied the MS grounds, MS sensor grounds, and sensor grounds all to the block, what theis does is put noise (from the switvching of the injector circuits & coil ones if they are insde the MS) on the ground line that all the sensors are on (MAP included) so all my inputs were really noisy, TPS especially.

Unless you're using MS1, you can specify the angle and window size where he MAP sampling is done. This should make the MAP reading much more consistent without having to do the fuel filter trick.

Righto, that makes sense. Did you ground your VR shield to the sensor ground pin as well?

I dont use a VR, Ive used a Hall sensor so I have a solid 0v5v signal rather than this wafty VR signal *wink*
